Ida Holmevik Løkkebø

Education: Civil engineer, University of Bergen

Office: Oslo

Ida Holmevik Løkkebø became a full time consultant at BraCom in January 2026 after completing her masters degree with a specialisation in energy. The first weeks in the infrastructure sector was a steep learning curve!

Why did you decide to join BraCom?

Ida: A fellow student of mine, Nora, had already started there and told me that BraCom was keen to hire more women with our academic background. It all happened very quickly: I attended an informal meeting with the department heads, Mads and Emil, and came away with a very positive impression. I liked everyone I met and the lovely offices after a short tour, and after that things moved quickly! Actually, my plan was to start in a full-time role this autumn. But I couldn’t let this opportunity pass me by!

Fredrik: My experience in 2023 was more standard, starting with a summer internship, followed by part-time work in Trondheim whilst I was completing my master’s degree. By the time I joined as a full-time employee, I had a solid social and professional foundation.

What does a typical working day look like for you now?

Ida: The day is filled with meetings. At the moment, these are mainly internal meetings about projects being delivered for Telenor.

Fredrik: I’ve been here full-time for over two years now, so things have changed a lot for me. I’m more in control of my daily routine than I was at the start. It really reflects BraCom: you’re given tasks, and management trusts you to see them through. Suddenly you’re thrown into a final inspection and have to head out to Østfold for completion. I might also spend a day in front of the computer working on internal systems, or perhaps in Teams meetings to check in with German colleagues.

What is the biggest challenge?

Fredrik: The challenge is working in two different countries with different requirements and working methods. It’s demanding! At the same time, it’s a great feeling when we succeed in applying lessons learnt in Norway to Germany, and vice versa, from Germany to Norway.

Ida: For me, the challenge is that the industry is new to me, as I specialised in offshore wind during my studies. We learnt a lot about, for example, oceanography at the University of Bergen. When I started on a Telenor project, I had to get to grips with a lot of things from scratch!
